Collection: Mounted Neoregelia (Bromeliads)

In the same family as the pineapple and Tillandsia (Bromeliaceae), Neoregelia are native to the South American rainforests and consist of around 94 species. They display a huge variety of colours, patterns and textures. Often having a symbiotic relationship with poison-dart frogs (Dendrobatidae), the frogs raise their tadpoles in the water filled rosette and the plants then utilize the waste products produced by the tadpoles for nutrients, in return the plant provides shelter for the tadpoles as they often grow above the ground on trees keeping them away from predators.
